Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte Lake Norman

This hotel needs a complete overhaul. Rooms are dreary and worn, carpet is threadbare, kitchenette is a mess, bathrooms are creepy, toilet sounds like a plane landing next door, televisions dont work properly and go on and off. The staff is great and couldnt be more helpful but their hands are tied. The location is great. Well never stay there again. We are staying at the Residence Inn Northlake. Great property, well maintained, clean and comfortable.

The rooms need to be updated. The carpet is old, furniture is old and dated and have a faint odor. Front desk staff and cook are very pleasant and personable. Housekeeping staff are not helpful. Best part: Hot coffee all day long. Located in a very nice area.

Room was very clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, no complaints. Ms. Cynthia handles their breakfast and is extremely sweet and helpful, couldnt be better. She also gave us some good tips on places to look for renting/buying a home. For well under $200 a night this turned out to be a great choice for us.

This is the first one star I've ever provided, and as a small business owner, it doesn't feel good. I've given the General Manager and Assistant General Manager an opportunity to discuss live and there was no response. This review is solely being made in hopes I get a call back and can later delete. I had a hotel reservation booked for two months and was told 5 days before checking in that my room was given to a larger company and I was no longer able to stay there. I am extremely disappointed in how careless my reservation was handled, the lack of empathy or concern for how this impacts my travel plans, and the overall customer service.

I am locked out of my apartment and tried everything to get it opened including getting a locksmith. I booked a room for one night and it was after 12am. I took Uber to go and check in, the lady at the front desk mentioned her computers are going through updates and cant check me in even if she wanted to. Cool. I asked her to let me sit in the lobby until she can check me in. I told her I will only need the room until 8am when I can go get a spare key from my complex but this lady would not even let me sit in the lobby. It is not like I am a stranger to Marriott. I am a Gold member that stays in Marriott hotels around 20-30 times a year. She kicked me out in a 29 degree weather with no option but wait in the cold and get another Uber to a quick trip to wait there. She is not human and should be fired.
