Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Airport North

Had to stay here a night after our flight home was cancelled. One of the worst Marriott properties I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at many on business as a Platinum member. Entry was dirty as are most carpets throughout the property. Room was moldy and the shower did not operate properly. There are no fresh food options until dinner. The closest food options are a distance away as well, which is rough given that this is an airport property where most people will not have cars. They advertise serving Starbucks onsite, but I understand that they have not had anyone to actually run the machine or make coffee for years. They also only provide coffee downstairs until 10am. I think it would be far more fair to just leave coffee out all day if you are going to falsely advertise on-site services. I mentioned all this to the person up front. They flippantly said "talk to management." I reported the issue to Marriott through their chat application. Marriott said we will to make more accommodations in the future. Apparently, avoiding false advertising and providing basic amenities at this kind of property is an "accommodation" now. Anyway, bottom line is avoid this place if you can and know that the "Bistro" is not actually open for breakfast according to the person I spoke to at the front desk despite what they say on the website and in the app.

Let's be honest - this review doesn't matter because like me, you picked this hotel because it's right next to the airport. And the hotel knows this. The rooms are old and the bathroom metal surfaces are all rusty. The first time I visited this hotel, the bar was closed and elevators didn't work. That's right. No elevators. That's a problem when you have luggage. The second time I visited, the machine that made keycards did not work, so the one and only staffer had to escort everyone checking it to their rooms, as well as anyone else that wanted to leave and come back to their room. The point it, this place is a dump. But, it's right next to the airport. So go ahead and book it - just go in with the right expectations.

Major ant problem. We left our car for a week at the hotel utilizing their park & fly option and came back to it infested with ants. And I mean hundreds of them; I have never seen so many. My car was not sparkling clean but also not covered in food, we must have parked near a nest. This was a very unwelcome way to come back from vacation, especially with hours left to drive before getting home. The hotel itself was fine. Our stay negatives other than the major ant problem: There was no breakfast even though there was supposed to be, the location is very convenient to the airport but it makes for a lot of noise when you are going to sleep. Positives: Proximity to the airport. Friendly staff. Bottom line: I would never stay here again.

I was here a few months ago on a work trip and overall, and the whole group pretty disappointed in our stay. Not a single one of us was given hand soap in our rooms. When I went down to ask the front desk for it, other guests were up there also asking for hand soap, so this wasnt just a one off situation. I think its completely unacceptable for hand soap to not be automatically provided for everyone. The hotel smelled strongly like weed the entire trip (lobby, rooms and elevators). I would not come back, especially not on a work trip.

I sent the email below to you on November 14th. with no response: I sent the same email to the owner of the hotel with no response. Hope you are well. I'm writing to you as I've tried to call you a couple of times last week to discuss my stay at Courtyard Charlotte Airport-Billy Graham Parkway. I would like to say that the employees there were great and did the best they could do with what they were dealt with. I had two concerns during my stay. One was the ladybugs I had in my room. I counted about 12 to 18 ladybugs in my room. I mentioned it to the front desk, unfortunately for me you were sold out and couldn't be moved to another room. I mentioned it again at check out and was refunded at my check out. The other concern was the lack of a room key. It was definitely an inconvenience for me because I have to wait for someone to let me in my own room. It was even more frustrating because it rained that weekend. After parking my car, I couldn't enter the building at the nearest door. I'm requesting a refund for 1 day for the inconvenience that occurred while at your property. Please have the refund reflect my account by close of business of 11/18. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Please confirm receipt of this email.
